This past Sunday was the Superbowl, and I’m sure Seahawks fans are ecstatic! While I am personally not a big watcher of football, I always keep my eye out for the Superbowl, as it always gets people talking about something interesting. This year saw a halftime show from Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny, and while he may not be everybody’s cup of tea, he has certainly become an international cultural icon for Latin music lovers. His message of love and unity across the Americas at the end of his show was a wonderful sentiment to end on. Let’s see what the Maroons thought about it!
What did you think of the Bad Bunny halftime show? – “Absolutely amazing! I thought it was a spectacular show of cultural representation and was genuinely beautiful. I was dancing the whole time; safe to say, I loved it.” – Iliana Martinez (Class of ‘29)
What is your dream halftime performance? – “Ooh, that’s a tough one, because I kind of feel like spectacle is just as important as the actual music. Honestly, probably Travis Scott, I feel like he’d do something crazy. Or Yung Lean or something crazy like that but that’s not realistic.” – Andrew Hill (Class of ‘29)
Seems like Andrew here should be the halftime show coordinator; he’s got a good plan cooking up.
Were you happy with the results of the Superbowl? – “Honestly, I was just glad that the Patriots lost, but once it hit 19-0, I kind of just turned it off.” – Dylan Lachaine (Class of ‘28)
