Maroons Talk: Environmental Connections

By Adriana Rose

In response to “What are some things you enjoy doing with your family?”

Lily Raboin ‘28 said, “I really love apple picking with my family! Back home in Rhode
Island, I have 2 younger nephews, so it’s always great to climb trees with them and
then get to have all the apples we picked for the rest of the fall! We always make a
bunch of desserts, and it’s such a fun time.”

In response to “What kind of weather do you prefer during this season?”

William Fritze ‘26 said, “I prefer it when it is a nice temperature during the day,
especially when I’m out and about, but it gets rainy and cool around dinnertime and
into the night. The cooler weather and sound of rain is really nice to eat and sleep to,
while the warmer weather and sun gives the day a pleasant feel and keeps me from
getting sleepy.”

In response to “What emotion would you describe autumn as? Why?”

Casey Toler ‘26 said, “The emotion I associate with autumn is content or calm, sort of
like a child when going through the outdoors in fall for the first time. You are content
but also looking at the trees and everything with curiosity and wonder. It creates a
calming sense of awe in a way, and you just can’t help but stop and stare or snap a
picture of it.”
