The Maroons are back on campus, and the school year has just started. Let’s take a
look into how they are settling in and setting goals for the year to come.
In response to “Are there any specific events or festivals you look forward to during
the fall?”
Lucas Johnson ‘29 said, “My transition into college has been pretty eventful to say the
least. From having transportation issues, to moving all of my stuff into my room on the
third floor and unpacking it all, to then having to move to a temporary room because
my pod had COVID. It’s been a lot, but I’m excited to see where my classes and
everything else will take me, and I’m looking forward to meeting more people an going
to all the clubs the college has to offer!”
In response to “Are you prepared for your last year of classes?”
Lavender Oman ‘26 said, “Honestly, no. I am unhappy about finally having to take my
HHP courses. I am also taking six classes this semester, which is a lot for me. So I hope
my last semester will be much calmer.”
In response to “What do you want to accomplish this semester?”
Jenna Thompson ‘27 said, “I am hoping to learn how to make my own clothes, and I
want to help more with the Theatre Roanoke College shows. I am also working on
keeping up with homework and adjusting my sleep schedule. That way, I can attend
more clubs and events, and I can maintain my social life.”
