Maroons Talk: A Wintry Welcome

I hope everyone experienced a warm welcome back to campus as they settled in throughout January. Though I’m certain that while the welcome may have been warm, the weather certainly wasn’t; Roanoke hasn’t gotten this sort of snow and ice in a long while, so it seems like nature is keeping us on our frostbitten toes! Regardless, it would be nice to check out how everyone is doing after this sudden wintry welcome.

With the multiple days of closure and plenty of snow and ice outside, how have you been spending your extended weekend? – “I’ve been spending a majority of my time with my friends; we’ve started doing some cooking together and, of course, going out in the snow. I’ve also spent a good deal of time playing games in my room with some friends back home.” – Spencer Tolley (Class of ‘29)

Are you satisfied with the amount of snow we got? Or do you think it was a tad underwhelming compared to the hype? – “As someone who has lived in Virginia for a long time, I promise you that it isn’t normally like this. But I would say that I am certainly satisfied with the snow, but honestly, it was kind of unfortunate to have the school closed for so long.” – Daniel Asbury (Class of ‘29)

What are you personally looking forward to most in this Spring Semester? – “I am looking forward to the continuation of the club soccer season as there are multiple games scheduled and I have recently become part of the executive board, which is really exciting.” – The Brackety-Ack’s very own Ruben Krishna (Class of ‘29)
