As September comes to a close and October begins, campus is buzzing with
excitement. From Family Weekend highlights to midterm prep and the early signs of
Halloween spirit. Maroons are reflecting on recent moments, tackling what’s ahead, and
getting into the spirit of the season.
In response to “How did Family Weekend go?”
Sabrina Rogers ’27 said, “Family Weekend was amazing. I was one of the actors in the
Moors (the Roanoke College Theatre Production), so I was doing that. I had a really
great time backstage with all my castmates. All three of our shows were sold out so
when we got big laughs from the audience it was super exciting. This was one of my
favorite Family Weekends.”
In response to “How are you preparing for midterms?”
Josh Ipe ‘27 said, “I am doing a lot of meetings with my professors to make sure I have
all the materials down. Otherwise, I schedule a set amount of time each day for
studying and getting in midterm assignments. Lastly, I am making sure to get enough
sleep so I can avoid making mistakes due to sleep deprivation.”
In response to “Is it time for Halloween yet? What is the best time for you to start
celebrating?”
Kenzie Raub, “I am a huge fan of Halloween, it is my favorite holiday. So, by the end of
September, I usually get into the spooky spirit. I’m in the spooky spirit now, so I am
already planning my Halloween costume! I love the fall and the scary vibes that come
with Halloween.”
