Folk of ‘Noke: Lia Shaw

Written by Juniper Rogers

Lia Shaw is a senior from Atlanta, Georgie, who is majoring in Literature Studies with a minor in Creative Writing. She is the editor of the Culture, Wellness, and Lifestyle section of the Brackety-Ack, the current president of RC Pride, and an involved member of many of RC Theater’s productions. She is an active enjoyer of all things theater, fashion, and the history of those two.
“Using modern methods of literary critical analysis, Shakespeare’s best play is definitely Richard III because you can analyze it through so many different angles such as looking at how Richerd’s disability affects his character and how disabled characters were historically portrayed. It’s also just way more entertaining than any of his other plays.”

“Come to the Bast Gym tonight (April 5th) to enjoy performances by our local Drag Queens and King at our annual Drag Ball. Be sure to bring small bills so that you can tip our lovely performers!”

After graduation, Lia plans to find a job, start working towards moving out, and get a Daschund. Her ideal job would be as a writer to hopefully publish a book one day or just an office job. “I want to thank all of my professors here for showing me how fun
being an absolute literature nerd is and for teaching me how to write. I’d also like to thank the Brackety-Ack for hiring me against their better judgment. And I would like to thank all of my friends and my parents for being so supportive throughout my journey
in college and to you, the reader for reading this far.”
