Maroons Talk: Present and Future

by Juniper Rogers

With a plethora of changes in the air, from summer to fall, Maxey to Shushok and the academic’s starting up, Roanoke College is a kettle ready to light the valley. To prepare for another great year I asked some Maroons for their thoughts on the present and the future.

To the question of ‘How do you think President Shushok has handled coming into Roanoke College’s community?’,

Marisa Seager (Senior) said “Although I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him yet, he seems to have entered the community with open arms and has made quite the presence.  I’m excited to see what he has in store for us all!”

To the question of ‘What do you think about the relationship between Roanoke College and the City of Salem?’,

Jamie Taylor (Freshman) said “Through supporting Salem’s local businesses that work with Roanoke College, I have found that the tax benefits for both groups has been a positive for us all.”

To the question of ‘What are your hopes for this semester?’,

Emma Caloia (Freshman) said “While I hope to grow as a person by developing meaningful relationships with my peers, I also find it important to maintain my high academic standards.”
