Maroons Talk: Holidays, Summer, & Graduation

As the semester comes to a close and the academic year wraps up once more, students are soaking in their final moments on campus before heading into summer break – or, for some, a new chapter beyond graduation. From Easter traditions and summer plans to the bittersweet anticipation of graduation, Maroons are reflecting on the moments that mattered and looking forward to the new ones they’ll create.

In response to “What are your plans for Easter?”

Addilyn Sutton ‘28 said, “For easter traditions, I normally get together with family and celebrate with either lunch or dinner! We used to do easter egg hunts when we were younger, but this year we did an egg pong game designed by my grandma. The eggs were filled with little treats and the golden egg had a $10 bill in it that my cousin won.”

In response to “Are you looking forward to summer? Any big plans?”

Jackie Corl ‘27 said, “I am looking forward to summer! I plan to get my pharmacy technician license and visit a few family members along the coast!”

In response to “What are you most looking forward to about graduating this year?”

Damien Raczynski ‘25 said, “I’m most looking forward to being able to use my skill set in an industrial or advanced academic setting. The education and experiences I’ve gained during my time at Roanoke College has given me the confidence to know I’ll make meaningful contributions throughout my career. Although I’ll miss my peers and the faculty who have supported me through this journey, I’m ready to take the next steps as a transition into a new and exciting chapter of my life.”
