Polling Maroons: Best Meal Served in Commons

With midterms on the rise and stress levels taking the climb as well, many
Maroons are turning to a source of comfort and brain fuel: a delicious meal at
Commons. To find out which meal is winning students over this semester, a recent poll
asked students to weigh in on which of the four Commons meals is the best: breakfast,
lunch, dinner, or brunch. The data was fathered from two groups: one via anonymous
voting on YikYak, and the other through a more personalized poll where students could
be directly contacted for more commentary.

It is worth noting that the YikYak votes and personalized poll yielded some
contrasting results, which reflects the varied student perspectives across campus.
Topping the list overall was dinner, taking the lead with a total of 93 votes, with
88 from YikYak and 5 from the personal poll. Favorites like General’s chicken, the
ramen bar, and the ever-popular pasta a la carte keep students coming back for more
as they unwind from long days of classes and study sessions.

Lunch followed close behind, earning a combined 84 votes, with 75 from YikYak
and 9 from the personal poll. From the classic shells and cheese to the many rice bowls
and the reliable RC subs, lunch offers a variety of comforting and quick options that
help students recharge before taking on the rest of their day.

In third place was breakfast, taking on 48 votes, with 45 from YikYak and 3 from
the personal poll. Whether students are up early for an 8:30 or recovering from late
night study sessions, breakfast has their back.

Finally, brunch rounded out the list with 38 total votes, 31 from YikYak and 7
from the person poll. The classic waffle Sundays and other weekend treats make
brunch a special way to relax before the week ramps up again.
