As we move into Spring Break and finally take a step back from schoolwork, students are getting prepared for an exciting week away from campus and the bustling schedule of classes. Students are hoping for a calm break filled with good weather and happy company! In this article, we take a look into how students are prioritizing their time and reflecting on the foliage in the upcoming springtime weather without the stress of classes.
In response to “Do you have any major plans for spring break?”
Grace Zhu ’26 said, “My only major plan for spring break is hopefully going to New York. I want to go shopping and doing that in New York would be really cool, especially because of how many stores there are.”
In response to “What is your favorite springtime flowering plant?”
Garrett Wall ‘25 said, “My favorite springtime plant would be dogwood trees. They are really pretty when they start flowering, and they mark the start of spring for me. It is perfect to acknowledge them as the Virginia state flower because of how prominent they stand out, especially on campus.”
In response to “What is some good advice for students to keep up with schoolwork while at home for break?”
Mary Aylor ’25 said, “Some good advice would be to set a time for 30-45 minutes every day to just work. Working a little is better than nothing. After the time is up, often you are in the right headspace to keep going, so you might as well!”
