Humans of RC: Blake Morrin

Written by Brice Hall

Blake Morrin is a Freshman here at Roanoke College. He is understandably undecided on his major but is very excited to explore several different academic disciplines here at Noke. He comes from a long line of Maroons as he’s had two siblings already graduate from Noke. His sister Tessa Morrin graduated this past May. Blake remember Roanoke as being a presence throughout his life as “spent most of my childhood here at Roanoke.”. Due to the constant proximity of Roanoke in his life Blake quickly fell in love with the Track program. He runs the 100,200 and 400 with Roanoke’s Track and Field Team.

Blake started playing Fortnite as soon as the game was released. Initially Blake played solely on the console before making the switch to PC in order to gain a competitive edge. The first video game that made Blake started to seriously play was the Activision first person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops II, which he played on the XBOX 360 console gaming station. He started to competitively play COD:BO2 and would go on to play several other video games competitively with the XBOX console. However since transitioning to a console gaming system Blake plays exclusively Fortnite

Blake has won several gaming competitions and credits his success to his competitive drive and his inability to let a mistake hold him back. He says that the highlight of his career was when he attended {}, where he met several of the top competitive gamers in the industry. Blake met Tifu,Faze Clan and other well known gamers.

Roanoke College is lucky to have such a competitive and driven athlete, both on the internet and on the track field.
