Maroons Talk: Pranks, Registration, & Spring

With the arrival of spring, students are anticipating the warmth, blooming flowers, and a much-needed break from the unpredictable weather of Virginia. After months of chilly temperatures and unpredictable shifts between cold fronts and hot days, many are looking forward to the steady sunshine and mild temperatures. In this article, we explore how students are embracing the spring weather, from appreciating nature’s beauty to managing seasonal allergies and planning for lighter, more enjoyable days ahead.

In response to “What are you most excited about as spring rolls around?”

Cassie Winfield ‘27 said, “I am excited to see all the flowers bloom and to do my work outside in the warm breeze. I also love seeing all the orange-bellied birds sitting plump in the trees.”

In response to “Are you taking part in any pranks for April Fools?”

Paige Walters ‘28 said, “Yes, of course I am! I have got something cooking up but if I say anything I will ruin it. Let’s just say it involves a coffee shop and a hot drink cup…”

In response to “Do you have any allergies that arise when spring comes around? How do they affect your schoolwork?”

Skye Digou ‘25 said, “Yeah! I have the worst seasonal allergies. The pollen will attempt to take me out for a couple weeks and I will end up sneezing ten times in a row during my presentations.”

Just a couple more weeks until we can finally appreciate the warmer weather. Hang in there, Maroons — the end of the semester is just around the corner!
