After a week’s worth of recharging, the Maroons return to conquer the rest of the semester. However, sometimes, it takes a second to get back into the swing of things after such a break, and it isn’t always easy; so, let’s see what some folks at ‘Noke were up to this past Fall break and how they’re settling back in as we approach the grand finale of spooky season: Halloween.
Do you find it easy to get back into routine after Fall Break? What do you plan on doing to get back into the flow of things? (Ashlynn Diggs Class of ‘29) – “I think it’s pretty hard to get back into routine after fall break because I got used to being free-flowing and being with friends, and now all of a sudden I can’t do that as frequently. It was tough starting on Monday, but I pushed through it. I plan on avoiding energy drinks and naps so that I can reset my sleep routine alongside heading to the library and getting big jumpstarts on work whenever I get motivated.”
What is your Fall Break highlight? (Kent Turner Class of ‘ 27) – “My fall break highlight was becoming an uncle! I visited my brother’s newborn in Durham, North Carolina, which made for a fantastic day trip.”
What do you think is an essential Halloween or horror movie? Why? (Kai Rasmussen Class of ‘29) – “John Carpenter’s The Thing (1982) is an essential movie because of the distrust that ensues between the characters because of ‘The Thing,’ and I just think that the practical effects are freaking cool.”
