State of Campus

By Juniper Rogers

This week, I’ve decided to take a vibe check of our campus to see what the mood is
going into a new season. Fall officially begins this Sunday, Sept. 22, and brings much
more of the shimmering fog we’ve seen this past week. So, how are Maroons behaving
during the last week of summer? The vibe is in a transitional period with a healthy mix
pink pony whimsy and Charlie Brown misgivings. The freshmen are slowly starting to
come to terms with the audacity of college and everyone else is like a rubber duck
bouncing back to stability after thrashing waters. The professors are cozying up in
their classes and housekeeping is as vigilant as ever. The ground is soaked to the teeth
and the trees are dancing to a tropical attack. The buildings are grunting like Atlas and
administration is planning a wedding three years away. Salem is flowing with hopeful
commerce and I wish you a well-deserved break.
