Spring Break is finally upon us, and students at Roanoke College are ready to unwind, relax, and catch up on schoolwork and sleep. After a long stretch of midterms and papers, it is safe to say everyone is ready for a well-earned break. Some students are heading to a tropical destination, taking a spontaneous adventure, and many are just hanging out at home. Everyone has their own idea of how to make the most of their time off. To get a glimpse of the top priorities for this year’s break, we recently polled students on their Spring Break plans.
The overwhelming winner of the poll was “catching up on sleep,” which earned an impressive 16 votes. After surviving midterms, assignments, and all-nighters, it seems many students are most excited about catching up on some much-needed rest. A well-deserved break from the grind is definitely on the agenda.
The alternative choice, “making memories,” received 7 votes. Whether it’s going on a road trip or enjoying time with friends, some students are eager to create unforgettable memories during their time off. One student shared, “I can’t catch up on sleep because, let’s be honest, I’ll be working all break. So, I’ll be making memories… at work.”
For those staying on campus during Spring Break, don’t forget to enjoy the stable weather we’ve been having in sunny Salem. You can still make the most of the time off without going far.
So, if you’re catching up on sleep, soaking up the sun, or just enjoying a week away from classes, make sure to make the most of Spring Break. Enjoy the break, Maroons!
