The arrival of the long-awaited email from President Maxey came on Friday, September 4th, right before noon classes were about to begin. A range of emotions overcame students as they read what the rest of the semester would look like. For most Maroons, the semester remains completely online with an option to stay on campus or stay at home. Professors are being given the option to hold some in-person sessions if they would like; however, many professors are choosing to continue their courses as they have done so far and stay completely online. There is a mix of relief and disappointment as students settle into wherever they will be taking classes from for the rest of 2020. The real question now is: what does 2021 hold?
