Where You Belong

Coming to college is a great way to start building your sense of identity, as you have the freedom to explore the things that interest you. Roanoke College provides lots of opportunities to try things out and see what works best for you.

With more than 140 clubs and organizations, you are bound to find some that pique your interest. Ranging from multicultural organizations, like HOLA, BSA, ASU, and RCPRIDE, which provide safe spaces for different cultures and identities, to clubs that focus on certain hobbies students find appealing, such as the Art club, Boardgame club, Film club, Tangles, and many more.

Besides having a chance to sit back and enjoy partaking in some fun activities, there are also more opportunities for education (which also include fun activities). Organizations like the French Club and German Club provide an opportunity to learn about other cultures in a fun and engaging way. Other academic organizations like the Creative Writing Club, Historical Society, or the Psychology Association can help with creating connections and/or gaining more knowledge in a field of study you are particularly interested in.

Whether you are looking for something to do while you are bored on a Saturday afternoon or want to get some experience in campus jobs, such as The Brackety Ack (yes! You could be writing in this newspaper) or planning events with CAB. I am sure you can find a place on campus where you truly feel like you belong. So, get out there, join some clubs, meet new friends who share the same interests as you, and make the most of your Roanoke College experience.
