Hey Maroons! Hope everyone is staying warm as it inches closer to winter! With it getting colder and getting closer to the holiday season, TV shows have holiday specials to celebrate. A blast from the past, one might say, here are some special Disney Channel Holiday Episodes as well as a classic Disney movie that are centered around the holiday season!
Starting off with Disney Channel, there is a myriad of content that can be listed. Starting off, “Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation” – Season 2 Episode 37. Phineas brings Christmas to Danville by turning the town into a huge thank you card for Santa. However, Dr. Doofenshmirtz makes a device which is called the “Naughty-inator” to make the entire city on Santa’s naughty list. This episode has always been a fan favorite. The comedic timing between Phineas and Ferb, the relationship building between Candace and Jeremy, and Perry the Platypus just being Perry the Platypus brings this episode into a feel-good moment!
Another is the crossover episode between Good Luck Charlie and Jessie; “Good Luck Jessie: NYC Christmas” Season 3, Episode 7. This episode is about Teddy Duncan getting accepted into a college in New York City and goes to the Big Apple with her brother PJ. She meets up with Jessie and Zuri only for Teddy and PJ to be stuck in NYC due to a huge blizzard. The Ross children then figure out that the presents they had were all stolen. This episode was the craziest thing in 2013 when it first aired. This is part of two sections, one in the Good Luck Charlie season lineup (Episode 17 of Season 4) and the other in the Jessie season lineup (Episode 7 of Season 3), so watch those two back-to-back from each other to get the full picture of this special.
Finally, staying in the Good Luck Charlie scene, Disney made a feature length film two years prior to the crossover episodes called “Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas!” This film follows the Duncan family on their trip to California for Christmas. Things take a turn when Teddy and Amy give up her seats for a free plane ticket. With Christmas on the horizon, those two must find a way to get to Palm Springs to reunite with their family. This movie focuses on the values of family and the mother-daughter relationship. This movie is a feel-good movie that also gives some nostalgia to the old Disney Channel Original Movies.
All in all, Disney Channel is a beloved place for holiday cheer and there are a myriad of more shows, but these specific ones have a special place in what holiday season is all about; spending time with loved ones!
