“Limitless” Las Vegas

Written by Mateo J. Biggs

Traveling while in college, even if for just a week at a time, is always a struggle when you have to factor in the money for your travel medium, food costs, where you’re staying, etc. However, when you have the ability to travel, it is always something that should be taken as you never know exactly what you will be getting up to.

For instance, this Thanksgiving holiday, I was invited to go to Las Vegas on a family trip and explore the strip with my cousin. What made this interesting, however, was the shows I got to go see.

One such show that I saw was titled simply “Limitless”. Sounds like a scam, especially since I had no idea who I was going to see– never truly believed in magic. However, Shin Lim’s “Limitless” truly did change that.

The only man to be a two-time winner of “America’s Got Talent”, Shin Lim is a Canadian-American magician who’s also titled 2015 champion of FISM– or the International Federation of Magic Societies –who currently performs in Las Vegas at the Mirage Theatre. His titles are definitely something that was earned through hard work and prestige from his trade as he dazzled the audience and took them for a ride through the art of sleight of hand magic.

Lim moved effortlessly through every trick and act– oftentimes so fast your eyes couldn’t keep up with what was happening and leaving you on the edge of your seat. At least, that is what he did to this skeptic.

Unfortunately, as I stated before, many of us students can’t always afford to travel and I was simply lucky enough to be in Las Vegas to see the show live. Like I stated before, on the other hand, is the fact that Lim had won “America’s Got Talent” not just once but twice. His most infamous tricks– some I saw live –come from the show itself and can be seen on season 13 of the show, where you can watch and stream on Hulu. If you prefer a more high-stakes version of the show, then you can also watch Shin Lim perform on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions”.

With effortless looking talents like Shin Lim’s, I would recommend seeing the magician perform whether through streaming or live for a more affordable chance, but it’s so easy to see why Lim has already made such a dazzling name for himself in the magic community.
