Sleigh bells. Do you hear them? The holiday season is already on the peak, many stores packing their display windows with as many Christmas decorations as they can and Christmas music blaring from car radios and mall speakers– especially as people begin their gift shopping in hopes of gaining a deal or two.
Christmas movies are already popping up on many different channels and while some people may be changing the channel, others are tuning in and settling down with the colder season. One such film that has become notorious with the holiday is Jon Favreau (“Iron Man”, “Couples Retreat”) directed movie “Elf”, featuring talent from hilarious actor Will Ferrel (“Megamind”, “Spirited”, “Step Brothers”), the cunning wit of Zooey Deschanel (“Bridge to Terabithia”, “Yes Man”, “New Girl”), and other notorious actors. The movie was originally released in 2003 and told the outrageously funny story of Buddy (Will Ferrel) the elf trying to find his dad (James Caan) in New York City. Packed with amusing punchlines and hilarious commentary, the movie also features heartwarming moments and tender scenes that perfectly balance each other out.
With such a classic message of love and family wrapped in a comedic bow, what else is there to love about “Elf”?
