Pack your bags, Maroons! Fall break is almost upon us. A lot of people will be heading home, and what’s a better way to celebrate than with a sweet treat to energize us after a long ride back! Of course, after spending all our time writing essays, studying for exams, and doing endless amounts of homework; the last thing we need is to spend hours in the kitchen. Sometimes, simplicity is the best, which is why I present to you a quick, three ingredient cookie recipe that will help you get into the cozy Fall spirit!
*The specific recipe used here is by Heather on the website “Allrecipes.com”.
Ingredients you will need:
1 cup of peanut butter
1 cup of granulated sugar
1 egg
First step! pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or 175 degrees Celsius. While the oven preheats, you are going to mix your three ingredients in a medium sized bowl.
Next, roll up the cookie mix into 1-inch balls and place them on a greased baking sheet. They should be at least 1 inch apart from each other, so they don’t stick together! With a fork, flatten the cookies to make a crisscross pattern (they should look kind of like a Tic-Tac-Toe grid). As an optional addition, try putting some chocolate chips on top!
Finally, place the cookies in the oven (be careful and make sure to use oven mitts!) and wait 10-15 minutes or until the cookies are golden brown. Take them out of the oven and leave them on a flat surface to cool for about 5 minutes, so the cookies don’t fall apart when you try to grab them.
Enjoy! This quick and easy recipe makes up to 24 small cookies! Now it’s time to sit back, put on your favorite comfort movie, and eat some delicious peanut butter cookies.
