Queen B: At It Again

Written by Sabrina Rogers

Ring the alarm! Beyoncé, ladies, gentlemen and everyone in between, is the second artist to announce that she is bringing her world tour to theaters across America! Officially it is called “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.” which shows fans alike what her tour has been up to. This film will be like Taylor Swift’s movie (“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” premiering October 13th, 2023-which you can ALSO pre-order at the theaters below near the college) where it will show behind the scenes actions and insights on the entire process of the tour. The tour will feature moments from almost every location she traveled to ranging from Stockholm, Sweden to Kansas City, Missouri. This tour has been racked up to be, as teen Vogue reported, the “highest grossing [tour] by a solo female artist” in history. This same article also commemorates how it has “an estimated $4.5 billion for the American economy, about as much as the 2008 Olympics did for Beijing.” Beyoncé has done something similar back in 2019 with Netflix called “Homecoming” which showcased her Coachella performance a year prior.

This movie tour is going to be released exclusively to AMC (but you can buy tickets at Fandango too) with tickets starting at $22, excluding tax. Here in the Roanoke area, the closest AMC you can find is Classic Salem Valley 8 (1700 Apperson Dr Salem, Virginia) which is about 2.2 miles from the college and AMC Classic Roanoke 10 (4494 Electric Rd Sw Roanoke, Virginia) which is about 6.4 miles from the college. Both locations are offering times right now to pre-order tickets! The first day available is November 30th, at 7pm for both locations. AMC is showing the tour for four weeks, as said in the teen Vogue article.

To prepare for this, you can go to whichever streaming service you choose to listen to Beyoncé’s discography or playlists some of the 2.7 million fans have created with the entire set list. Songs in the set list include Dangerously in Love, Alien Superstar, Cuff It, Break My Soul, Diva, Formation, Black Parade, Crazy in Love, Virgo’s Groove, and Energy-which you MUST obey the Queen Bee for when she says “Look around everybody on mute!”
