With the one year anniversary of COVID here, I took some time to reflect on the last 365 days. There’s been a lot of things I’ve learned about myself, pop culture, and the communities I’m a part of.
- Quarantining is not easy.
- You can still have fun if you get creative.
- It’s easy to focus on the things lost or the negatives, but try to stay positive.
- Chloe Ting workouts are no joke.
- Wearing a mask is about protecting others and not just yourself.
- “Zoom University” negatively impacts your attention span once you’ve transitioned back to the classroom.
- A 10-year age gap is only a deal-breaker if you talk about it too much (AKA Jessica to Mark)
- Your community of loved ones are there for you.
- It’s okay to not be motivated ALL the time.
- Count your blessings.
- Family gatherings are important, but so is protecting the senior citizens in your family, so finding the balance is important.
- TikTok can save you from quarantine boredom (and maybe even lead to fame)
- Check in on your loved ones.
- Remember that no one has gone through a worldwide pandemic before, so there is no “guidebook.”
- Despite how well-planned out you might be, you have to be willing to adjust the sail.
- Did Caole Baskin kill her husband???
- Walks are great!
- We are very fortunate to live in an era where technology is big and can stay in touch via FaceTime or Zoom.
- The lyrics to “Electric Love” will forever be engraved in my mind.
- Maskne is a thing, so wash your face even more than you used to, without over-doing it.
- There are so many things that can be virtual now, but cherish the times you get to be in-person with people.
- There is a beam of light at the end of the tunnel, if we remain careful.
