Welcome back beauties! You have been missed immensely. It’s good to have you back at Roanoke!
Let’s get straight to the point- Valentine’s Day is right around the corner which is exciting if you are booed up, right? Wrong. It, honestly, is more enjoyable when you are able to spend it with friends and ones you love. Don’t forget, this made-up day is about love. You don’t have to spend it with someone that you’re in a romantic relationship with. You spend it with people you know you love. The you only wish happiness and pure joy to- parents, grandparents, friends, sibling’s, pets, you name it. What should you do with them on cupid’s day you might ask? Well, you’re about to find out.
Skip out on the expensive gifts and fancy dinner dates. Yes, it is important to feel special to someone, but you can’t put a price on real love. Handmade options can be cheaper and hold more of a sentimental feel. If you’re a single pringle this Valentine’s Day, gather some close friends and get crafty. Make some pretty valentines for the ones you love or a sweet treat. If you’re not one for the crafts, watch cheesy movies that will, inevitably, make you weep. Gather your favorite snacks and some chocolates.
While this day might be hard for some, remind yourself that you are loved, and you give love in return. Spending this day with friends can help ease that burning feeling you might have. Being single is, honestly, what you make of it. Enjoy the freedom and work on yourself before anything else. While crafting and watching movies with friends, please remember COVID restrictions and be safe.
If being with friends isn’t your pace, don’t worry- all you need is you. Absolutely spoil yourself! You, without a doubt, deserve it. Buy yourself your favorite snacks and something cute along the way. Get a nice face mask and/or hair mask and pamper your beautiful self. Get back into bed and watch a movie with a pint of ice cream. Remind yourself you are never alone, and you don’t need a significant other to have fun on this day. This day is about giving and receiving love. You get back what you put out. Remember to cherish yourself, because you will never have this moment or part of your life back.
A quote everyone should repeat to themselves is from RuPaul, “If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love someone else?”
At the end of the day, I love you to the moon and back. I will be your Valentine without a doubt. Take care of yourself, and enjoy this Valentine’s Day!
