Valentine’s Day is not only a holiday to spend with a significant other, but it can also be spent with any loved one in your life! Whether that be family or friends, what better way to demonstrate this love than with a little gift to show appreciation for these people in your life who make your days a little easier?
Money can be tight, especially as a college student. But the best gifts don’t always have to be expensive! I can tell you right now that a simple personalized card with some inside jokes or something only they would understand can go a long way to showing them that you love them.
Some people just want to hear they are appreciated; so why not grab some colored pencils, markers, and a simple white sheet of paper and make a nice card decorated with drawings of all the things they love? You can even go the extra mile and “send” these cards to the mailroom; you can look up their mailbox number in the directory and ask the people working there to place your card inside!
If words aren’t your thing, maybe a little craft can help. There are millions of step-by-step tutorials on how to do origami roses, hearts, or even cute animals! What matters is that you put some effort and time into the gift.
Finally, if gift-giving doesn’t work for you, lean more into time-giving. Go out for a sweet treat at Lucky Cat, located on Main Street, or go to watch a movie at the local AMC theater! Whatever you decide to do, as long as you have the right intention in your heart, it will be enough.
Have a great Valentine’s Day Maroons!
