Welcome back to Noke, Maroons! To kick off the semester, this week has a plentiful amount of fun and exciting activities that you absolutely do not want to miss.
If you’ve been having an itch to get involved, but have no idea how, don’t worry! This Friday, from 4:30PM through 6:30PM, is the Winter Activities Fair held in Bast Gym. For those who aren’t aware, the Activities Fair is a massive gathering of all the college’s clubs all brought into one massive fair as a collective. Their top representatives will provide students with goodies, as well as formal information towards their club’s agendas, passions, and overall goals they aim to accomplish. Some of these organizations will even offer paid on-campus jobs, so feel free to stop by, take a look around, and ask questions to see if any clubs are the right fit for you!
That’s not all however, because up next is a brand new event. The upcoming Chess Tournament is just around the corner, happening this Friday from 7:00PM through 9:00PM in the lower atrium of Colket. Participants will compete fiercely against one another in a bracket-style competition, with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners being granted grand prize packs. Chess boards will be provided, so there’s no need to sweat on bringing your own material. If you’re looking for a fun competition and have a knack for Chess, this is the perfect opportunity for you! Don’t forget to put your name and email on the sign-up sheet by the Info Desk in Colket Center to officially join!
