‘Tis The Season

As the fall semester comes to a close, the holidays are starting to brighten up all across campus. Alongside these festive decorations are an abundance of fun, new, and exciting events that you don’t want to miss!

December 6th is stacked with engaging activities, such as the famous Christmas Parade. Today from 6:00PM-8:00PM, bundle up outside and check out downtown Salem for a wondrous festival full of flashy floats and spirited bands. It’s a magical time where the whole community comes together to celebrate, hosting free hot chocolate and cider by the bank building. The Roanoke Cheer Team is also performing at the event, so make sure to go out and support them! Shortly afterward, from 8:00PM-9:30PM in Pickle, the Holiday Karaoke will lift your spirits with sweet treats, gingerbread houses, and holiday crafts. There’s free raffles throughout the event, including a prize for a charming ugly sweater.

On Saturday, December 7th from 12:00PM-2:00PM, the grand RC Activity Rewards Raffle will be held in the Ballroom. This free raffle holds the biggest prizes you’ll ever see across all events, so make sure to try your luck before it’s too late! The amount of tickets you’ll receive depends on how many events you’ve attended across the semester, with each being one raffle ticket. The more events you’ve attended in the fall semester, the more tickets you’ll receive. These happen every semester, so if you want to prepare yourself for the spring semester raffle, attend as many events as you can in the future!

Last but not least, the Roanotes Holiday Extravaganza will be hosting their concert on Sunday, December 8th at 8:00PM in the Olin Theater. These incredibly talented singers have an exciting lineup of festive songs, such as Last Christmas, It’s The Most Wonderful Time of The Year, All I Want For Christmas Is You, and many more all in acapella. It’s entirely free, so bring your friends and enjoy the concert!
