Spooky Gaming

By Marisa Seager

If you are anything like me, you might not be planning to go out on Halloween night or Halloweekend…

Here are all of 2021’s big Halloween gaming events that I would recommend:

  • Call of Duty Warzone/Black Ops Cold War: The Haunting

From October 19 – November 2, season six coincides with Halloween. The killer we will be seeing is Ghostface from the Scream franchise. You can expect to see a skin from Donnie Darko resembling Frank and of course Ghostface himself. Until then, try playing the Scream Deathmatch mode for Black Ops Cold War, where killers dressed up like Ghostface hunt down teams of survivors!

  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons fall update

From September 30 – October 31, new seasonal items will be introduced that players can craft, use to dress up, or decorate their island with. Just like last year, prepare to throw on your costume and pay pumpkin-headed Jack a visit on Halloween night! But before then, stock up on candy so you’ll be able to give it to Jack in exchange for some spooky in-game items.

  • Overwatch: Halloween Terror 2021

From October 12 – November 2, celebrate with weekly rewards and the return of the following: Junkenstein’s Revenge, Junkenstein’s Endless, and six different challenge missions. It’s time to grind to earn those Overwatch Halloween Terror Loot Boxes and unlock new spooky cosmetics!

  • Dead by Daylight: The Midnight Grove

From October 21 – November 4, celebrate the season with special themed hooks and generators, themed items available through the Bloodweb, spooky load screens, and a Halloween themed lobby. Not to mention, there is a new survivor named Mikaela Reid! Just remember to log in for a one-time reward and keep an eye out for codes to redeem for more.

  • Pokémon Unite: Halloween event

From October 20 – November 10, throw pumpkins everywhere! In Mer Stadium quick battles, players will be able to use two new seasonal special attacks – Pumpkin Toss and Pumpkin Push. By playing this festive game mode, pumpkins will be given that can be exchanged for limited-time Halloween items. The more you play, the more you collect!
