As we know, I’m a big Bachelor franchise fan. I feel like I have said that on repeat here in the Brackety-Ack, but it is what it is. That being said, not having a new season of The Bachelorette to look forward to this summer definitely put a damper on my Monday nights, but ABC revived them by airing The Bachelor’s Greatest of All Time. Every Monday, they aired a different season voted to be one of Bachelor Nation’s favorites, and by rewatching these in a condensed fashion, I realized some things I didn’t the first go ‘round, and lucky for you, I will be sharing these discoveries right here!
Long-time Bachelor Nation followers know that Juan Pablo Galavís’ season of The Bachelor is considered one of greatest of all time, but not for the reasons the others are- an epic love story of a couple still together or a beloved lead that all of Bachelor Nation is rooting for. Instead, season 18 of The Bachelor is a fan favorite because of runner-up, Clare Crawley.
Crawley’s exit scene is noted in Bachelor Nation history books for how to unwaveringly stick up for yourself and what you deserve. After she holds up her hands to prevent Juan Pablo from hugging her and tells him she lost respect for him, she walks away and says, “I’ll tell you what. I thought I knew what kind of man you were. What you just made me go through, I would never want my children having a father like you.” This scene immediately marked her as one of Bachelor Nation’s favorites for saying what viewers had been thinking all season long. It’s no wonder Chris Harrison invited her back for the first two seasons of Bachelor in Paradise, The Bachelor Winter Games, and now as the upcoming season of The Bachelorette’s leading woman.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from this 39-year-old fan favorite, besides how to tell off the next person who treats us poorly, it’s to never lose hope in finding your person. Clare continues to put herself out there in search for the epic love story we all deserve and hasn’t let her age scare her into settling. Sure, some would argue that maybe reality TV isn’t the place for her to keep putting herself out there, but nonetheless, she keeps fighting for love, which includes taking opportunities to find it.
Say what you want to about the hopeless romantic, but we can all agree that she is determined to find the true love she’s been searching for and Bachelor Nation will be rooting for as her season airs on the 13th. Rumor has it, it’s going to be a dramatic one!
