Tired after a stressful week? Need help decompressing from a tooth pulling week? Well don’t worry, here is the best recipe for a weekend in the clouds. So gather your closest companions and get ready to feel the stress fly away.
Being able to escape from the dorm room helps clear the ole noggin’. A go-to place to fleet would be a car! Listening to music helps get out of any moods that might be putting a damper on your stride. “To the Mountains” and “Means Something” by Lizzie McAlpine are relaxing songs that could help retire your thinking cap for the night, allowing you to slip into a stary haze conducted by the song. “Hope Is A Heartache” by LÉON is a great song to drive to with all windows down and let the indefinite space, that is the air around you, fill your body with fresh air. Finding the best playlist filled with songs that have no attachment to any bad memories is a requirement. Blast them through the car stereo and groove.
Take the time after the week to do something nice for yourself. You got yourself through the week! You should be immensely proud of yourself. Buy yourself something nice, maybe a frozen treat? Reward when you do good to remind yourself how important you are. As RuPaul says, “If you don’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?” Don’t be so hard on yourself when the minor inconveniences happen, they are planted in your life for a reason. Use them to your advantage and grow from them.
Rent a fun movie and do a nice face mask, preferably the peel off ones. Think of the mask peeling away your stress and you are left with a fresh, beautiful, glowing face- ready to take on the following week. Really take the time to do something beneficial for yourself! “Trailor Park Boys” and “BoJack Horseman” are some personal favorites on Netflix. While being mind-numbingly entertaining, those Netflix specials allow you to escape reality and help ease any bad thoughts.
Go spoil yourself; you deserve it! Keep your head up when the universe throws something stressful your way because it’s life, and everyone goes through it. You’re not alone! Nobody’s perfect, as Hannah Montana would say, so please don’t bruise your beautiful spirit because of a bump in the road. Find things to look forward to and make a friend along the way!
