The sequel to the sequel of a classic American original movie recently hit theatres and the crowds are loving it.
While that description could refer to just about any top-selling movie that has been released these past few years, this time it’s IT Chapter 2. This 3-hour movie does start to feel like a slogging novel at times, so perhaps the name is fitting after all.
In perfectly fair and in no uncertain terms: the movie is adequately good. It is by no means memorable per se, but it’s not bad either.
IT Chapter 2 is enough to keep audiences busy for three hours, but the three hours watching it in the theatre will likely be the last time the movie occupies your conscience.
Jeffrey Bloomer from Slate describes the sensation as, “It’s obvious that the filmmakers failed to fully reckon with what they’ve put on the screen, and the results are grim.” Interesting as it is that “grim” was used to describe the movie, it was not quite in the terms director Andres Muschietti expected.
IT: Chapter Too Damn Long hit theaters September 9 and will be running for some time. While viewers have already missed the spookiest opportunity ever to watch a horror movie (that being Friday the 13, during a full moon no less), hopefully spookier activities filled up their time. Such as attending CAB’s Bingo or reading a book, but recreationally.
