Track and Field
Our men’s and women’s track and field teams opened their outdoor season this past weekend at Washington and Lee University. Both the men’s and women’s teams had top finishers including Chamberlain Zulauf finishing eighth in the 5000m and Micah Ray finishing third in the 400m for the men’s. On the women’s side, Lindsey Baxter took second in the pole vault and Jennifer Calascione took third in the shot put. The teams will take a trip down to Highpoint, N.C. this weekend.
Baseball
The baseball team fell to Washington and Lee in the ninth inning Tuesday night, but the Maroons redeemed themselves Wednesday against Guilford 6-4. The team hopes to keep their undefeated conference record going as they head into their double header on Saturday against Shenandoah at Haley Toyota Field starting at 12:00pm.
Softball
Our softball team had an impressive showing over Spring Break going 6-2 in Florida. Since coming back, the Maroons have endured a rough patch, but they plan to come back this Saturday for a strong showing against Randolph Macon. The ladies will be hosting the double header at the Moyer Complex starting at 1:00pm.
Women’s Lacrosse
The women’s lacrosse team has had an impressive season thus far with a 6-2 record. They dominated Transylvania, 20-12, and Berry, 23-2, last week, but their streak came to an end this past Saturday against Washington and Lee. The Maroons hope to bounce back this Saturday. They will face St. Mary’s at home at 2:00pm.
Men’s Lacrosse
Our men’s lacrosse team has gained some big wins in the last week leading to their three game win streak. Last Tuesday, the men triumphed over Kenyon 17-10 to start their streak. This week the Maroons faced Virginia Wesleyan and Mary Washington where they earned two impressive wins, 27-13 and 20-8 respectively.
Women’s Tennis
The women’s tennis team has been on fire. They have not let their opponents win a single set during their last three matches. They faced Ferrum yesterday afternoon . Go see the ladies dominate Randolph-Macon tomorrow on Elizabeth Campus at 12:00pm.
Men’s Tennis
After a rocky start, the men’s tennis team won both of their matches this past weekend. On Saturday they defeated Shenandoah University 8-1, and Sunday the men conquered York 6-3. The Maroons hope to keep the momentum going when they face Ferrum this afternoon at 3:00 on Elizabeth Campus.
