The millennium is back in a big way as of late, as the era has made a resurgence in popular culture ranging in everything from music and style. Placing a finger on the exact mystique of the late 90’s and early 2000’s is difficult, but a moment in pop culture that undeniably captivated a generation was the premiere of a certain music video starring a school girl in pigtails. Britney Spears’ “…Baby One More Time” celebrated its 20th anniversary Tuesday, marking a staple in music history that has inspired recent nostalgia for butterfly clips and frosted eyeshadow. For many, “…Baby One More Time” and it’s other contenders from *NSYNC and Christina Aguilera represent a time of offline, bubblegum pop nostalgia. Passing the 20th year of the tracks’ first radio play, it’s an experience to look back on what you were doing when you first heard the best-selling teen track of all time.
