Jackbox games. One of the best ways to get closer with a group of people. Whether you are making Jokes on the Jokeboat or figuring out what character you are from F.R.I.E.N.D.S. in Role Models, Jackbox Games has the game for you. Luckily enough, in the Gameroom on Saturday, there is a Jackbox Games playthrough from 8-10 PM. There will be snacks provided and if you are a top 3 winner, you get a prize!
Jackbox has so many different packs you can get which has a myriad of games that are fun. Quiplash, Fibbage, Role Models, Dictionarium, Jokeboat, and Trivia Murder Party are the most popular games Jackbox has created.
Quiplash is basically Apples to Apples but with increasingly unhinged prompts. Fibbage is when you come up with your own BELIEVABLE response to a prompt then try to guess which one is the correct answer. You get points for getting it right and for fooling your friends who buy into your fib. Role Models is about seeing what roles your friend groups fit into! Some results I’ve gotten were “Not very dependable classical people person”, “Very oblivious boring wannabe square”, and more! All fun in games of course! Dictionarium is a personal favorite. This game is where you create definitions for nonsense words or slang terms! One of my favorites that my friends and I came up with is “Relationships: A theatre cast list” which was derived from “circle of betrayal.” This made my theater loving heart chuckle. Jokeboat is where you take up the role of a comedian and must craft & perform your own stand-up jokes using prompts and wordplay! This one is a lot of fun, especially when good at improv. Lastly, Trivia Murder Party is a game of trivia with losers facing mini-game challenges to stay in the game. This one can be quite fun but also frustrating if you aren’t the best at trivia.
To play, you need a device where you can connect to the internet like a phone or computer. You’ll go to a website called jackbox.tv then type in the room code (once you figure out which game you’ll be playing) and your name. It’s quite simple!
Again, in the Gameroom at the bottom of the Colket Center there is a Jackbox Games playthrough from 8-10PM on Saturday, February 15th. Hope to see you there!
