Hey Maroons! As the spooky month of October leaves, a new one arises (of which is my personal favorite), November! A time for giving thanks, autumn goes into full bloom and appreciating what we have. However, as November starts, we have a fun event soon to kick off: Roa-Chella!
I had the honor of interviewing a member of WRKE, Wilson Andrake, who has a show called “Rock & Roll Nightclub” from 6-7PM on 100.3 LP-FM or wrke.com or the Tune-In App, about Roa-Chella and here is what he said!
Q: “What is Roa-Chella?”
A: “Roa-Chella is a multi-weekend event of showing off local and smaller bands!”
Q: “Where can one attend?”
A: “You can see all the shows in the Cavern at 7pm. The first three shows are on Saturdays and the final performance is on a Friday.”
Q: “What should we see when attending?”
A: “You are going to see 4 different styles of music, mainly the style of what we play on the radio; indie-rock-alternative driven music.”
Q: “Why should people attend?”
A: “People should attend because it’s fun, and show your support for other groups since we, at WRKE, would love to keep doing these types of events. And support small artists!”
Jeremy Huband will be performing on Saturday November 2nd (which has already passed since this article is being published), Harvey St. will perform Saturday, November 9th, Lost in Space Camp will be performing Saturday November 16th, and Limbers will be performing on Friday November 22nd. There will also be free merch giveaway! This is a first come, first served type of deal so you want to show up to this FREE event early with your Maroon ID. There will also be a dip bar and 2 free drinks for participants 21+. Hope to see y’all there!
