SPECIAL EDITION: RALLY COVERAGE
The Brackety-Ack reached out to over two dozen student attendees of the Trump Rally on November 2nd, and received only one response, which has resulted in a far shorter article length than the counter rally article yielded.
According to the anonymous attendee of the rally, it was “completely packed inside and outside the Salem civic center.” Some people reportedly showed up as early as 7:00am and did not even get inside the rally.
The “main talking points were the current economic crisis, border control, trans women in sports, illegal immigration, foreign wars, and the current division in this country.” While the topics which received the most vocal support were the economic crisis and illegal immigration. The student noted how good of an opportunity it was to attend a political event of this size and importance.
They stated that they were excited to “support and be surrounded by people who have similar viewpoints, instead of hearing the consistent hatred [they] see and hear on campus when you have different political beliefs.” This student specifically attended to support women’s sports and the women’s swim team. They noted that this was an important cause for them in the election and a big reason they voted for Trump.
