Returning to the “Treehouse of Horror”

by Anna Tillman

Halloween is right around the corner which means it is time to watch your favorite scary movies and tv shows! One of the classics to watch this time of year is the Simpsons Halloween specials. “The Simpsons” is a very popular and funny tv series. There are multiple seasons which include the chaotic “Treehouse of Horror” episodes. Every Halloween, the series releases a Halloween-themed episode. The story lines always follow the family being involved in a horror or sci-fi environment. These episodes have all the original characters in it; however, the events that take place during the episode are outside the scope of the main story line. Therefore, everything that happens during the specials does not affect the main story. This gives the writers all kinds of creative freedom when making the Halloween episodes.

The newest episode of “The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror” has been released! The episode is called “Not It”. It is a parody of the “It” novel by Steven King. Homer and his teenage friends need to band together in order to defeat the evil clown terrorizing their town. The episode basically follows the exact same plot line as “It”. The difference is that the writers made sure to make the episode more funny than scary. The killer clown is more of an attention seeking menace if anything. The episode was very funny and if you have seen “It” you get all the inside jokes. Even if you have not seen the movie, the episode was still worth watching. If you’re looking for a good show to watch for Halloween, binge the “Treehouse of Horror” specials!
