Deep breath in, deep breath out- we made it through one whole year of COVID-19! It’s crazy to think that it has been a whole year since this madness started! Through blood, sweat, and tears, we made it through a year!
I know that there is a lot that might have felt lost in this past year- graduation, summer memories, birthdays, school dances, etc., but let’s take a moment to appreciate how far the population has come!
While there has been a year of staying inside and quarantining, let’s look at the good in that. Understandably so, staying inside can take a toll on mental health. Let’s not forget, you were never alone! Spending the quality time with your family might be something you cherish down the line. Your parents, or guardians, and siblings were there cheering you on from the sidelines. Take this one-year mark to do something special for yourself! Don’t be upset for where you might be now due to quarantine. Remember that you are beautiful and always enough. Maybe get all the family together for a one year Zoom party! Buy yourself something you have always wanted! Text that one person back that you have been too scared to talk to!
The biggest takeaway from COVID is how precious life is. You are so valuable! You have the ability to sit and read this article, which is greatly appreciated. Take all the risks! Your life is beautiful, and you should never take anything for granted. Corona taught us all the importance of staying humble and pure. Thank everyone when you get the chance and check up on your friends every once in a while. Life is too short to worry about what people think of you, and its too short to wonder “what if.”
Celebrate this one year with gratitude. Thank the ones that helped you through this hard time, and make sure to thank yourself. At the end of the day, you are the only one who you can rely on to get you through the day. Don’t be too hard on yourself! Your mind, body, heart, and soul got you through one of the hardest times in our history. Tell your loved ones you love them, because you never know when it will be the last time. Always find the good in everything you do. You are always loved and have many people here rooting for you, I know I am! :0
