The entertainment industry is more well-known for whirlwind romances and messy break-ups than it is for long-standing relationships. However, some celebrity couples have shown that true love and commitment is not just a Hollywood fantasy.
When Golden Globe winner Emily Blunt and four-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee John Krasinski first met, Krasinski instantly knew he was going to fall in love with her (The Ellen DeGeneres Show). “As I shook her hand I went, ‘I like you,’” Krasinski said. The two were married in 2010 and have been together ever since. Blunt and Krasinski starred as husband and wife in the thriller film “A Quiet Place” (2018) and have welcomed two children, Hazel and Violet.
The names Beyoncé and Jay-Z instantly call up two of the most iconic and influential musicians in the industry. Together, they make a bona-fide power couple with 45 Grammy wins to their names. Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been married since 2008. They have had three children together – their first child, Blue Ivy, was born in 2012, and five years later Beyoncé gave birth to twins, Rumi and Sir.
Oscar-winning Australian actress and Grammy-winning country singer — perhaps not a predictable pairing. But Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban share a connection that runs deeper than either of their acclaimed careers. “Meeting her and getting married wasn’t life-changing, it was life-beginning,” Urban said. “It was literally like, ‘Okay, now life starts’” (CBS Sunday Morning). For loyalty and longevity, one celebrity couple is hard to beat. Tom Hanks, one of America’s most beloved and celebrated actors, first met actress Rita Wilson on a television episode. They were married in 1988, and their relationship has been going strong for almost 33 years. Hanks and Wilson have two sons together, Chet and Truman. “[O]ur relationship isn’t magic – the way it’s shown in movies,” Hanks said to Oprah Winfrey. “In real life, our connection is as concrete as me sitting here…[W]e both know that no matter what, we’ll be with each other – and we’ll get through it.”
