Men’s basketball
After an up and down few weeks, the Men’s Basketball team defeated Guilford College 76-59 this past Wednesday. The win over the second ranked ODAC team came thanks to a 16-0 run to start out the second half. This win could be pivotal as the regular season winds down, and the push to move up the standings continues.
Women’s basketball
After a dominant start of the season the women have taken a step back with three losses in their last four games. The Maroons still have two more games and hope to finish strong to increase their ODAC standings. Come cheer the team on this Saturday, February 9 at 1:00p.m. in the Cregger Center.
Track and Field
The Track and Field teams have been busy playing host recently, as schools from all over have been competing in the Cregger Center. In the Finn Pincus Invitational, the Maroon relay teams reigned supreme, with the Women’s team setting a new school record. Every member of the Track and Field Teams continued the trend last weekend, when they hosted the At The Last Minute Invitational.
Swimming
In their last competition until the ODAC Championships, both the Men’s and Women’s teams took home wins. On their trip to Farmville, the Men’s team dominated Hampden-Sydney and Ferrum, while the Women’s team took care of Ferrum by a wide margin. Their incredible seasons will be on the line in a weeks time as they head down to Greensboro for the ODAC Championships.
