Shifting Schedules

With this big snowstorm that just hit Virginia, class was cancelled two days in a row, at the moment I am writing this. Being able to stay home wrapped in a warm blanket is priceless, but it also messes with your sense of time. Even when lectures are on pause, most things due on Inquire aren’t, and with the distraction of building an igloo with my friends, drinking hot chocolate, and admiring the view, I have found myself procrastinating on assignments more than usual.

For future reference, since the snow seems to want to come back next week, a balanced snow day should have some productivity sprinkled into it. This can be simple things such as checking Inquire every day; it takes only a couple of minutes and helps remind you of upcoming assignments. In the same way, check Outlook! You will most likely be reminded of assignments through emails that let you know up to a week before.

If your professors upload any slides or even recordings of topics you missed, consider checking them out and getting some notes in. Some professors may decide to move on to avoid schedule conflicts. Speaking of schedule conflicts, make sure to be aware of any schedule changes that may occur due to missed classes so that you don’t get confused with the old schedule and turn out to be unprepared.

Stay warm, Maroons, and hope you had fun on your snow days!
