It’s astonishing that another week has flown by. You know what else is astonishing? Theater at Roanoke College proudly debuts Little Women in Olin Theater tonight! This classic musical has been in the works since Family Weekend back in September.
What is Little Women about? This musical, based on Luisa May Alcott’s life, follows the adventures of Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March. This Civil War story of love and family showcases how Jo aspires for her stories to be published despite them not getting traction. So, begrudgingly taking the advice from Professor Bhaer, her friend, she creates a story about living in an environment of Civil War America.
Tickets are FREE for all Roanoke College students, faculty, and staff! For the general admission, it is $10 and $5 for seniors/non-RC students. Tickets can be purchased through the box office (boxoffice@roanoke.edu), calling the box office at 540-375-2333, or on the Current TRC Productions page (https://www.roanoke.edu/inside/theatre_program/current_trc_productions). There is a link to Eventbrite to purchase tickets electronically.
Now, when is this momentous occasion? There are 4 performance dates to attend! Thursday, November 20th at 7:30 pm, Friday, November 21st at 7:30 pm, Saturday, November 22nd at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, November 23rd at 2:00 pm. On Friday the 21st (tonight’s performance!), there is a talk back after the show!
A talkback is where the production will come and chat with the audience. They answer questions, see reactions, and talk about the process of making Little Women, as Jo March says, Astonishing!
