If you, like so many, went outside and immediately got drenched this week, you probably realized that it’s been raining the last couple of days. This pattern seems to be repeating next week. Even if you enjoy the rain, we must admit it is hard to entertain yourself when you are obligated to stay inside just to remain dry.
When people talk about things to do while it’s raining, they always recommend the same things. Stay inside, get cozy with a warm drink, wrap yourself up in a soft blanket, and read etc. And these aren’t bad recommendations at all! If you are feeling the stress of midterms approaching, this can be a great time to do a little self-care and relax before hitting those study guides.
But if you aren’t opposed to getting wet there are plenty of fun things to do outside on a rainy day. Rain can be relaxing, certainly, but if you are looking for more chaotic fun why not try gathering a couple of friends and doing your own challenge course in the rain! Set up obstacles and have a race. You will most likely slip and fall but getting dirty is part of the fun.
We aren’t the only creatures who want to be out when it’s raining. You might be able to find frogs, snails, and other little animals embracing the water. Snap some cool pictures! But most importantly of all, have fun and always be mindful of the weather. Rain can become dangerous so be aware of thunderstorms and stay safe while you have your fun.
