Roanoke College’s Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse teams have been absolutely dominating the end of their respective seasons. For the Men’s Team, they had an intense match against Hampden-Sydney College on April 12th. It was held in the iconic Donald J. Kerr Stadium on-campus, and spawned a slew of impressive achievements from many star players on Noke. Junior Clayton Betwick managed to accomplish a career-high five times throughout the game, alongside fifth-year Wyatt Whitlow reaching 300 points across his time playing for Roanoke College. The match ended in a win for Roanoke with a final score of 18-14.
On April 16th at Bridgewater, the Men’s Lacrosse team fought against Bridgewater College, and steamrolled them with an impressive 24-8 win. What’s even more impressive however is their most recent against Virginia Wesleyan University on April 19th, hosted in Roanoke College. The audience was roaring in cheers throughout the match, ending in a stellar 35-8 win for Noke and solidifying the team’s three in a row win streak.
The Women’s Lacrosse team have had a monstrous run, their April 12th match against Virginia Wesleyan University at Virginia Beach ending in a whopping 20-1 win in Noke’s favor. On top of that, their April 16th game against the University of Lynchburg held at Lynchburg didn’t stop the team from soaring through the ranks, ending in a 20-10 win for Roanoke once more. Finally, on April 19th on Senior day at the Donald J. Kerr Stadium, the most recent match against Eastern Mennonite University was a grand spectacle to behold. What would’ve been fierce competition crumbled against Noke’s Women’s team, also achieving a three-peat with a 23-4 win.
