Selena vs. Hailey: Let the Drama Rest
by Victoria McGraw
If you are not on Tiktok you might not know the enormous drama filling everyone’s Form You Page between Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber. It all started years ago when Justin and Selena dated and became a worldwide celebrity couple. Once they broke up, Selena’s fans (Selenators) began to investigate why/how/what/who. Selena has said multiple times that she is thankful for her fans but she wants everyone to be kind to everyone. Now that you are caught up, the new drama started on TikTok when Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner made a video stating “God’s timing is always right” alleging this was towards Selena’s body after she walked the Golden Globes red carpet in January of this year. Once the Selenators connected the two events, they speculated that Hailey was fat-shaming Selena. Hailey deleted the video very quickly after this. “I never comment on this type of thing but we were just having a girl’s night and did a random TikTok sound for fun. It’s not directed at anyone” Hailey Bieber said. Selena went on live discussing her health is more important than being skinny. She was diagnosed with Lupus in 2014 which makes her gain weight and lose weight. Selena has been very open about her disease.
Soon after this drama died down, Selena posted a video on her TikTok stories showing how badly she did her eyebrows while doing her makeup. That evening, Kylie Jenner, who is best friends with Hailey, posted a selfie to her Instagram stories with the text “this was an accident??” placed directly over her eyebrow. Followed by another post of a screenshot of a Facetime call with Hailey of both of their eyebrows in the picture. Of course, this was mocking Selena’s story from earlier. In a nutshell, women should support women. There is no point in body shame or making fun of someone, especially if someone openly expressed her mental health issues prior to this drama. The Selenators went into more investigating and found very odd things that Hailey has done throughout the years. She has been a fan of Selena ever since she was little, there is evidence on Twitter of this. Hailey has a makeup brand similar to Selena. Selena has a cooking show and so does Hailey. If you go on YouTube you’ll find all the things Hailey has copied Selena on ( be prepared, there’s a lot). The Selenators should just let the drama rest, and the Jenner’s and Hailey should just let Selena live her life. Selena has been extremely nice and supportive of all of these women, so there’s no need to make fun of her when she is supporting you.
