Men’s Soccer: The maroons finished with a 14-2-4 record to round out an impressive season. They were granted a bid to the NCAA tournament. Unfortunately, they fell in the first round to Swarthmore. The team forced a tie with the score at 2-2 which led to penalty kicks. Unable to close out the game from the 18-yard line, the team was sent home. Ultimately, the men’s soccer team had a successful season and look forward to 2020.
Men’s Basketball: After opening the season with a loss, the men’s basketball team (2-2, 0-0 ODAC) rallied back with two straight wins in the Dick Leftwich tournament. They proceeded to fall by 10 against Pfeiffer. They return home to take on St. Elizabeth and Wilson in the Juniata Tip-Off Classic this Friday and Saturday the 22nd and 23rd.
Women’s Basketball: The women’s basketball team (2-1, 1-0 ODAC) opened their season with the Jean Beamer Tip-Off Classic. They fell short in the championship against N.C. Wesleyan 78-63. Next up, they travel to Mary Baldwin on Saturday the 23rd.
Swimming: Roanoke Swim wrapped up their season in grand fashion. Strong efforts from both the men and women led to a thrashing victory over Emory and Henry. Congratulations to all swimmers for a fantastic season.
