‘Charlie’s Angels’ Resurfaces After 15 Years

Written by Jessica Shelburne

It’s been more than 15 years since the last successful rendition of Charlie’s Angels, but if 2019 will bring us anything good, it’s that by November, we’ll have another addition to the franchise. Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinksa star as the highly ranked private investigator angels, with Sam Claflin, Noah Centineo, and Patrick Stewart starring in noteworthy supporting roles, in addition to Elizabeth Banks, who directed the film as well.

The 2019 interpretation of Charlie’s Angels sustains a plot similar to the action comedy storyline made original by Ivan Goff and Ben Roberts. “The Townsend Agency has expanded internationally […] with multiple teams of Angels guided by multiple Bosleys, completing the toughest missions around the world. When a young systems engineer blows the whistle on a dangerous technology, these Angels are called into action, putting their lives on the line to protect us all” (Wikipedia).

The soundtrack is produced by Brian Tyler – musician, composer, and producer of multiple Fast & Furious installments, Crazy Rich Asians, and dozens of “Hawaii Five-0” episodes (IMDb). The film’s lead single titled “Don’t Call Me Angel (Charlie’s Angels)” was recently released featuring Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey, and Ariana Grande, who also co-executive produced the soundtrack alongside several award-winning record producers.

Charlie’s Angels is set to release November 15, 2019.
