The annual Studio Art Exhibition displayed by Olin and Smoyer galleries will be held this year from April 5 – May 3 and showcases 81 works created by RC art majors and minors. Exhibited works are from the artist’s area of focus including ceramics, design, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture. This exhibition represents the wide variety of media, styles, and ideas students explore in the college’s Fine Arts Department and reflect their creative talent.
Gallery Director Talia Logan states, “The Office of Undergraduate Research has generously funded two awards that will recognize two students for their work in the Art Majors Show. The work was juried and chosen by a committee representing the three divisions: Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities.”
An exciting new aspect of this year’s exhibit is that it is the first year in which the Joanne Leonhardt Cassullo Center for Art Award will be granted to a student’s work in the show.
This exhibit is an ideal area of peaceful escape as the end of the year is approaching along with the inevitable stress that accompanies it.
