Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and for the first time in years, I am almost as excited as I am for other holidays throughout the year! This is probably due to the fact that I have a beautiful girlfriend and plans to celebrate the holiday with her in the ways important to us.
What are those ways of celebration, you might ask? Well, first I will give a shameless shoutout to Nerf Club (of which I am an officer)! We are hosting a Valentine’s Day Pair Battle from 7-9 pm on February 14th in Bast Gym. The pairs do not have to be romantic in nature, so you can attend with whoever you want – or even come alone and be paired up upon arrival! There will be some Valentine’s Day chocolate for all attendees, and the winning pair will receive a prize!
Unfortunately, I do have a work shift on Valentine’s Day morning and early afternoon, so a bit of the day is unavailable for celebrating. But we still have perfect plans for the evening! We are going to have a romantic dinner together before the event. Afterwards, we plan on playing board games while we eat some of our favorite snacks and drink some delicious dark wine. We will probably end the night asleep together, wrapped in each other’s arms. Of course, I also bought her some gifts – nice chocolates and a mystery other gift I cannot reveal in case she reads this on publication day!
There’s no “right” way to celebrate the holiday though. I hope that all of you manage to have a great day doing what you love with the people who matter most to you!
