On March 1, 2025, the Roanoke College Cheerleading team achieved a monumental milestone, clinching first place at the prestigious CCA College Nationals in Fayetteville, North Carolina. It was the culmination of a season that had been marked by long hours of practice, unwavering determination, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. The journey to the national championship had not been easy, the team faced numerous challenges throughout the season, from injuries to intense competition. They pushed through every obstacle, continuously improving their routines and skills, and proving that they had the heart and drive to be champions.
As the team took to the mat for their first routine at the nationals, the pressure was on. The stands were filled with cheering spectators, and the atmosphere was electric with excitement and anticipation. The Maroons delivered an incredible performance, impressing the judges and audience alike. But what truly set them apart was their ability to adapt and refine their routine as the competition progressed.
“I’m so proud of this team,” said Coach Kaminski, her voice filled with emotion. “They have overcome so much this season and really bought into building our program and setting a standard. The historic win at nationals reflects the team’s perseverance and commitment throughout the season. From the training sessions to the game-day performances, the Maroons have worked tirelessly to push the program forward and make an impact on and off the mat.” The victory was not just a personal triumph for each of the cheerleaders, but for Roanoke College as a whole. It marked a turning point for the program, one that had been growing steadily but was now firmly positioned on the national stage.
The championship title represented not just athletic achievement, but the realization of a dream that had been nurtured by countless hours of practice and dedication. “Winning this title is amazing, but what makes it even more special is the way the team has carried themselves both on and off the mat. With this title, Roanoke College Cheer has set a new standard for the program, and the future looks bright as we continue to build on this success. Go Maroons!” Said Kaminski.
